If you are looking for an independent psychotherapist, the following accredited and general members are currently available for private work.
“Accredited Members” on this page are those members who have been interviewed by us and accepted by us as suitable practitioners to be placed on the Psychoanalytic Register of the UKCP. These members have their suitability re-assessed every five years by the Hallam Institute.
“General Members” on this page are those who fulfil criteria B of the rules of Membership of the Institute, namely “Practising psychotherapists holding UKCP registration through another organisation”. In other words, their suitability for the UKCP is determined by another Member Organisation of UKCP.
Andrew Enever UKCP Registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist
Practising since 1997, and UKCP Registered since 2000, I trained at the Bowlby Centre in London. Subsequent trainings include EMDR and Sensorimotor Trainings, leading to Certification as a Sensorimotor Psychotherapist in 2015. I have also been accredited as a training therapist by the Bowlby Centre, and I am registered as a supervisor with the UKCP.
I consider myself to be part of the Interpersonal tradition in psychoanalysis, and am informed by modern trauma theory. I have a particular affection for Janina Fisher, who was involved in my training with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
I have worked in the NHS with the Neurology Psychotherapy service at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
I am no longer taking on long term clients, but I am interested in doing short term work, in providing supervision, in joining with other therapists and counsellors in the Leeds area in discussion groups and seminars.

Eric Medcalf B.A.(Hons); Cert.Appl.Soc.Stud.; C.Q.S.W.; Dip.Psychother.; reg. UKCP; reg. PBANZ; MNZAP
35 years experience in short and long term work with individuals and couples.
I enjoy working with a wide range of issues, especially those connected with times of change in people's lives: whether in relationships, work or personal aspirations. I particularly enjoy working with young people and artists from many fields. (Students and working artists with low income would be eligible for a reduction in fee).
Work is online only with overseas clients as I am based in NEW ZEALAND,
I also enjoy working with older people as they make sense of their lives (appointments can be made in residential homes).
My therapeutic style is varied, depending on the issue presented and the client's own styles of thinking, relating and experiencing their emotions. My psychodynamic training leads me to understand current issues as they relate to earlier experience; yet I will also work with patterns that emerge from present stressors and experiences, using techniques from cognitive therapies.
