Membership Types of the Hallam Institute of Psychotherapy
There are two membership types:- General member and Accredited member.
General membership
Category A
Persons who do not practice psychotherapy but who support the Aims and Objectives of the Institute.
Applicants applying under this category must send an accompanying letter explaining their interest in joining the Hallam Institute, and a personal reference from a professional or someone of standing in the community stating that they have a serious interest in, but do not practice psychotherapy. Applicants may be invited to an informal interview
Category B
Practising psychotherapists holding UKCP registration through another organisation.
Applicants applying under this category must send a photocopy of their current UKCP registration together with details of their member organisation and section.
Category C
Persons supporting the Aims and Objectives of the Institute, who may be qualified and practicing in a core profession or associated area to psychotherapy.
Applicants applying under this category must send an accompanying letter explaining their interest in joining the Hallam Institute, and a personal reference from a professional or someone of standing in the community, stating that they are practising in a core profession or associated area to psychotherapy. Applicants may be invited to an informal interview
For all categories of General membership there is a £15 administration fee and a £50 General Membership Subscription. In the event of unsuccessful application the £50 fee will be returned to you.
Accredited membership
For Accredited membership there is a £85.00 administration fee, which must be enclosed with the application documents. If membership is conferred, then the yearly subscription for membership of the Hallam at present is £125.00 and the UKCP Registration Fee is £131 and runs from 1st October to 30th September. The HIP and UKCP fees are not be requested until the membership procedure is completed.
